These cold autumn mornings…All I want is to stay in bed under my warm soft duvet and eat hot comfort food. My body becomes lazy and feels like I need a double of my usual energy for each task. For such mornings, traditional English breakfast is the best decision. Eggs&Beans? No. Oatmeal, Sir!
These Apple Pie oats are so easy to make. Well, as probably any oats. Oatmeal is a great way to kick-start your day. It is delicious, quick and gives you those comfort carbs for the whole day! Quite a motivation to get up from bed.
I have also noticed that as soon as leaves turn yellow I tend to throw a pinch or cinnamon in any meal I can. So here is another one. The recipe is simple…
1/2-1 cup of raw rolled oats
1 handful of raisins ( can be substituted with dried cranberries, yum)
1 handful of peanuts
1/2 tbsp of honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon and nutmeg
- Put oat in a bowl and cover with b=hot boiled water. Place a lid or a plate on top so it steams there.
- Cut apple and remove the skin. I find it more yummie when oats are with soft apple, absorbing cinnamon and honey. Chop the apple.
- After 3 minutes oats are ready, you can see they grew in size. Top them with all the ingredients and mix. If you used a lot of oats you may want to add more honey or balance other ingredients.
You can also substitute honey with maple or agave syrup. Whatever healthy option you have at home.
